Delete your Samvara account
How to delete your account and what happens to your data.
Delete it in the app
- Open Samvara and go to Settings. On the web, open samvara.app/app/ and go to Settings.
- Choose Delete account. In the Android and iOS apps this is the Delete Account button; the web app calls it Close account.
- If you have a goal mid-run, finish it or end it first. Ending a goal can charge the stake, and the app shows you the amount before you confirm.
- If you have a Karma Coins balance, choose whether it is refunded or donated.
- Type DELETE to confirm.
Can’t sign in?
Email support@samvara.app from the address on the account, with the subject “Delete my account”. We confirm it is you by replying to that address, and we delete the account within 7 days of that confirmation.
What happens
You are signed out and your account is hidden at once. If you sign back in within 7 days, the deletion is undone. After 7 days the account is erased permanently.
What is erased
- Your account and email address
- Your goals and their history
- Daily tallies and custom metrics
- Your settings and weekly charge cap
- Your devices and sign-in sessions
- Notifications and push tokens
- Feedback you sent
- Coach links and invites
- Usage events
- Your place on the product-updates email list
- The Stripe customer record that holds your saved card
What is kept, without your name or email
- Records of each charge and refund
- Karma Coins movements and payouts
- Payment consents and any card dispute
We keep these because we must hold financial records for bookkeeping, tax and disputes. Stripe keeps its own copy of the payments it processed, under its own legal obligations. Sign-in codes expire after 10 minutes. Server logs and error reports age out on their own.
Subscriptions
Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription bought through the App Store or Google Play. Cancel it in the store first.
